Here in the US, it’s “Black Friday,” so the MAGA “Morans” are blowing their welfare checks on giant TV’s and bigger automatic rifles. Meanwhile, over in Paris, French President Emmanuel Macron concluded his tour of Notre Dame with an emotional speech, thanking all those involved in restoring the cathedral to its former glory in just five years. During my long and somewhat checkered career, I have worked and free-lanced at most of the major BDA’s, producing work that not only won awards, but also sold a ton of shit. Occasionally I would take a gig at an in-house agency. Usually, a disastrous experience whose sole function seemed to be massaging the CEO’s monstrous ego. A perfect example is the current, piece of shit, in-house produced Jaguar campaign that I have ranted about over the last few days. On the other hand, there’s the in-house produced Amazon “Endorsement” campaign featuring Adam Driver. Fucking brilliant.

Staying with last week's post about the pathetic new Jaguar campaign, Marina Hyde, over at The Guardian has a wonderful piece that rips the Venerable Old Car Co a new arse... Here's a taste, there’s a lot more, equally as acid... “Imagine being inside the Jaguar marketing department, on the night before their new rebrand, as these crack experiential troops prepared to release this week’s new ad on an unsuspecting luxury car market. Picture the champagne corks popping as the socials are timed to post the video at the appointed hour. “I hope the pre-order guys are ready for an onslaught – because we’ve got eight capital-D diverse models in category-five tulle busting out of a pink-planet lift wielding a hammer – and precisely NO cars! Let’s make some sales history!” Maybe these douchnozzle's could re-introduce the Edsel. In pink, obviously.

In the “You can't make this shit up category,” last Wednesday at Sotheby’s in New York, some douchenozzle coughed up $6.2 million for that infamous “art-object” that is simply a banana duct taped to the wall. The winning bidder informed us... “I am honored to be the proud owner of this iconic work and look forward to it sparking further inspiration and impact for art enthusiasts around the world." He also told us that he plans to eat his multimillion-dollar investment. What a wanker.
