Really good article over at Spectrum, titled “50 Years later, we’re still living in the Xerox Alto’s world.” It spells out how the Alto transformed computing by creating everything from a graphical user interface to networking to the mouse and numerous other breakthroughs. Created at PARC, the Palo Alto Research Center, (Which I visited many times during my work for Xerox at Y&R, New York.) Unfortunately, Xerox never took advantage of their lead. They were too busy trousering millions from their copying business. PARC is still there, probably with more mind-bending things that they’ll never take advantage of.

Keanu Reeves joining Facebook?

According to a piece over at “Insider,” ZuckerNozzle is giving Facebook yet another shake up as part of his “Year of efficiency.” This includes demoting hundreds of managers to serf status, having them compete with people they previously managed. That’ll go down well. Facebook currently operates according to a "matrix model," one person familiar with its structure told Insider. The model is intended to encourage cross-collaboration by having multiple managers from various departments or regions oversee the same project simultaneously. Obviously, this will necessitate bringing Keanu Reeves on board. Will he be a manager or a serf?

TikTok... The clock is running.

With all the furor about TikTok and its possible banning, we are now being told that TikTok has set a one-hour daily limit for teens. Hey, no prob dude. They’ll easily find a way round that. Here’s the best bit... Research has shown that social media is contributing to a mental health crisis among young people, and TikTok has become the most-used app among U.S. teens. A 2022 Pew Research Center survey found 67% of teens reporting that they use TikTok, and 16% saying they use it “constantly.” In other words, social media is driving kids nuts. Or at least, nuttier than they already are.

Good for the face paint industry, though!

Hats (Or perhaps, I should say wigs) off to the people over at “Liquid Death” for their in-house produced spot to launch their own brand of Iced Tea. “Your Grandma’s Energy Drink.” Full of raging grannies displaying their energy by kicking the shit out of everything they touch, whilst playing ear drum busting heavy metal music. Watch out for the bit when they try to blow a man’s balls off! The whole thing is quite well done... And provides further proof that as the BDA’s circle the toilet pan, the good work (Like The Farmers Dog recently) is being increasingly done in-house and doesn’t fuck around with useless multi-million dollar celebs.

No doubt you are on the edge of your chair waiting for Elon “King Twat” Musk to announce his plan for transmogrifying Tesla today. Apparently, he will announce plans for a new factory in Mexico (that’ll boost the US economy, not to mention his personal net worth) and a slew of other cataclysmic measures that will guarantee that investors will shower him in love and adoration. This is being hyped as the companies “Master Plan 3.” Not holding my breath for “Master Plan 4.”

Forget the Ukraine, or student loans, or train wrecks, or where Covid came from. The really important news of the week is that President Biden and his wife Dr. Jill, dined out in Washington at the Red Hen restaurant, and they both ordered exactly the same meal... A chicory salad, grilled bread and butter and a bowl of rigatoni. Yes, exactly the same meal. What is this country coming to? We can now look forward to this being discussed at great length by Tucker Carlson and the other Fucktards at Fox “Fair and Fucked up” News. No doubt they will come to the conclusion that this is yet another proof of the “Wokeness” of the White House. Gotta get your priorities right.

Believe it or not, the Daily Beast has a piece... “Rupert Murdoch, serial divorcee, already eyeing his next marriage.” That’s right, the ninety-one-year-old “Wizened of Oz.” has been dating Ann-Lesley Smith, 66, a one-time police chaplain, since the fall and is seriously considering proposing. Why would the old geezer be keen on marriage after just months of shagging? (Can you imagine) Friends say it’s largely to do with religion: When asked, Murdoch cites his Catholic faith for why he prefers marriage over dating. Oh yeah. That makes sense! Would be bride, Smith has spoken about how the breakdown of her first marriage led to her finding God. “The Lord gave me a hunger for him, and I actually replaced the things of the world with the Scriptures, As I began to walk with God, the things of the world just seemed pointless to me.” Like shagging maybe?

So, in another round of Twitter employee layoffs, Elon “King Twat” Musk, has just dumped Product Manager, Esther Crawford. This is the lady who was famously pictured sleeping on the floor in a desperate attempt to meet his insane deadlines. Despite criticism from some who said Musk was making Twitter employees work round the clock to prove themselves, Crawford took it in stride, stating at the time that “doing hard things requires sacrifice.” Well Esther... That paid off, didn’t it?

New York Festivals Advertising Awards^® and agency BCW have partnered on a bold Call for Entry campaign that challenges entrants to “Show Us Something We Haven’t Seen,” Work, that like these, would make the most data-driven Meta Fucktard ad executive, sit up and take notice. Best of all... No fucking celebs. Brand Ambassadors or their cretinous kids. Well done guys.
