There’s a promotion going on for the R/GA - ANDY Awards with a supposedly humorous "Lie Detector Film" that they hope will validate the significance  of the awards as seven creative agency leaders answer questions while taking a polygraph test. The spot features CD’s from Ogilvy, Mischief, FCB, Pereira O'Dell, R/GA, Joan Creative and Wunderman Thompson, being interrogated relative to the awards. Good job none of them work in Brazilian agencies. Back in my Mad Man days, those fucktards used to be notorious for winning awards for shit that never saw the light of day.

What’s a real President?

Nothing says “Presidential” more than President Biden flying into Kyiv on Presidents Day, to meet with President Zelensky whilst air raid sirens blared in the midst of the war. Compare that to the time when Der Trumpf “bone spurs” on a European jaunt failed to visit the memorial outside of Paris to honor the American dead... Cos it was raining, and unlike all the European leaders gathered there, he didn’t want to spoil his hair.

What’s in a name?

Remember when ad agencies were named after the people who founded them? Like Doyle, Dane, Bernbach, or Ogilvy and Mather, or my first New York agency, Benton & Bowles. Now there seems to be a competition for who can come up with the most fucked up name. For instance, a Dutch agency is opening a New York office... Its name. Gospooky. I kid you not. Obviously, it will be a scary place to work.

With the news that former President Jimmy Carter, who at 98 years old is the longest-lived American president, has entered home hospice care in Plains, Georgia, I think he will be gone in a few weeks. I know from experience, as my wife of sixty-three years passed away within weeks of being placed in Hospice care. When he campaigned for the presidency, he often said... “If I ever lie to you, if I ever make a misleading statement, don’t vote for me. I would not deserve to be your president.” Unlike today's rag bag of so-called politicians. He never did.

Musk Pants and Rants...

Douchenozzle Elon Musk went on a Twitter tirade on Friday yelling and screaming that news he had made his employees create new algorithms to boost his scores on his Super Bowl tweets was not true. It is however well documented. Further proof that being rich doesn’t make you likeable. On the same day, he also fired dozens of Tesla employees in Buffalo for trying to organize a union. Nice job, fucktard.

Best British ad site MoreAboutAdvertising tells us that BDHC (Big Dumb Holding Company) WPP CEO Mark Read has announced that he wants to be the world’s most creative “transformation” company. Whatever the fuck that means. He goes on to explain... “It will engage in strategy and consulting to help clients with a range of initiatives including digital transformation, new product launches, e-commerce design and development, mobile applications and payments infrastructure.” Seems to me there’s nothing creative about that mishmash. But, what the hell do I know?

I know I promised not to write any more stuff on the world’s most boring sports event  - The Super Bowl – But this caught my eye, and it’s my blog!!! Nearly a quarter of the dumb fuck commercials were for alcohol. That’s up from the less than 9% in 2022. Obviously, the decision by Nun’s Piss creator, Anheuser-Busch to give up its alcohol stranglehold on the game. Had something to do with it.
