Apparently, Der Trumpf’s golden girl is through with politics. We are being told that Ivanka was unhappy about how her friends "turned their backs" on her during her father's administration. She hated all the criticism and the threats and was unhappy about how a lot of their friends wanted nothing to do with them. Methinks that perhaps she shouldn’t have taken the job then. Still, think of all that loverrrrly lolly she made in the four years she was slaving away on our behalf.

The FIFA Football World Cup in Qatar starts in two days. Better get pissed before you go though, ‘cos Qatari officials have decided that the only drinks that will be on sale to fans at games during the monthlong World Cup will be nonalcoholic. This must have pleased Budweiser, who shelled out $75 million to be appointed the official “Nuns Piss” of the World Cup. Funny thing is, the ban on alcohol seemed to apply only to fans attending games. Beer and other drinks, including an official FIFA Champagne and sommelier-selected wines, will still be available in stadium luxury suites reserved for FIFA officials and other wealthy fuckers. Anyhow... Come to think of it... What’s the difference between non-alcoholic beer and Budweiser?

Living in a Winter Wonderland.

If you live in up-state New York, don’t go out tonight. The National Weather Service is forecasting... “Snowfall that will produce near zero visibility, make it difficult to impossible to travel, damage infrastructure, and paralyze the hardest-hit communities. Very cold air will accompany this event, with temperatures 20 degrees below normal forecast by the weekend.” Reminds me of when we lived in Rochester, just below Lake Ontario. The first time it snowed, when I came out in the morning, I couldn’t find my car. It was completely buried in snow. I went back in and had an extra breakfast beer.

So, now that the RepubliMAGA’s have clinched a very slim majority in the House of Representatives they have outlined a broad range of investigative targets focused on Joe Biden and his family’s business dealings. Hunters laptop, remember? The one he dropped of at the blind geezers’ computer shop. Yeah, right, forget about trying to run the country. “Cos, they want to make sure the President is not compromised or swayed by foreign dollars and influence.” Unlike Der Trumpf. Fuck... Do these guys ever give up?

The day before he announced his upcoming run for the presidency, Der Trumpf also announced a deal with a Saudi based real estate company to license his name for a planned golf course and tourist destination in Oman. Apart from the obvious conflict of interest there, I have a couple of questions. Have you any idea how hot it gets in Oman. You’d have to be out of your fucking mind to play golf when it’s well over a hundred degrees. Besides which, how does associating with the game’s most notorious cheater do any good for the golf game?

If you ever needed proof that the Wizened of Oz’s (Rupert Murdoch) Evil Empire is deserting Der Trumpf’s rapidly sinking ship, the New York Post had a feature buried on page 26... “Florida man makes an announcement.” Holy shit. How quickly things can change when your major attraction turns out to be a proven loser. Best bit in the piece was... “Trump kicked things off at Mar-a-Logo, his resort and classified documents library.” Rubbing salt in the wound, Maria “thick lips” Bartiromo featured a panel on Fox Business that highlighted the downside of another Trump run for the White House. Fuck, is America finally coming to grips with the awfulness of Der Obergropenfuhrer?

With the news that Smirnoff has just appointed McCann as its new global agency of record, I am reminded of when I worked on the account at Benton & Bowles in my Mad Man days back in the sixties. The Marketing director of the parent company, Heublein, was a loathsome pig who kept a Nazi SS dagger on his desk. If you showed him an ad he didn’t like he would stab it to death, throw it on the floor, then jump up and down on it to make sure it was truly dead. There’s a lot more about him and Smirnoff in “Confessions of a Mad Man.” Buy the fucking thing, it’s less than the price of a pint.

Musing More Musk...

Sticking with Elon Musk for a bit more, news just in that this weekend he announced that the days of free meals for employees at the San Francisco office are over. He further claimed that a single lunch serving cost $400 per meal because “almost no one” was in the office as the average occupancy was below 10%. Still, now that he expects everyone to work 80-hour weeks, there won’t be any time for lunch.

I nearly choked on my breakfast beer when I read this gem in the Washington Post this morning... Twitter is not checking the identity of anyone who pays $8 for the check mark, which looks identical to the current “verified” badge. Musk has said spammers and impersonators would be dissuaded by the fact that their $8 would not be paid back if their accounts were suspended. Oh, fuck yes, the spammers will stop spamming if they think they are going to lose eight fucking dollars. Words of wisdom from the worlds richest douchenozzle.

You have to feel sorry for the world’s richest douchenozzle, Elon Musk, who just said that he was working “at the absolute most amount … from morning til night, seven days a week” when asked about his recent acquisition of Twitter and his leadership of Tesla. “I have too much work on my plate that is for sure,” Musk said by video link to a business conference on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Bali. Well, here’s an idea, you fucktard... Stop buying shit you don’t understand.
