Ace Canadian AdScamer Ray – Eh? Wants to know why I didn’t do a T.G.I.K.M.F. yesterday. The answers simple. I forgot. I’m an old geezer, remember. Anyway, thanks for reminding me Ray. The latest news about Kate makes you wonder if she is back to her Noel Gallagher days after appearing out of sorts during a recent fashion event. She presented Saint Laurent (YSL) creative/image director Anthony Vaccarello with the title of 2022 Fashion Innovator at the Wall Street Journal Magazine Innovator Awards last week. Though she looked great while gushing over her longtime pal, Kate seemed jittery and clutched onto the podium as she slurred some of her words in a high pitched voice. Musk gets murkier...

Over at The Guardian there’s an interesting piece... “Exodus continues at Twitter as Elon Musk hints at possible bankruptcy.” Wow, he’s only owned the thing for three weeks and he’s already talking about bankruptcy! It also points out that the two people Elon brought forward to talk with advertisers in an attempt to convince them to keep partnering with the company just quit. However, the truly best bit comes at the end... Messages seeking comment were left with Twitter, but it is unlikely someone will respond as the communications department has been laid off. Ha... Nice one Guardian!

But at his fake palace in Florida, he was privately spreading blame, including to Fox News’s Sean Hannity and casino mogul Steve Wynn, for his endorsement of Dr. Oz. He included his wife, Melania, among those he complained had offered poor advice, as Gail Collins said in yesterday’s New York Times... “Not the worst decision she’s made!” And in 36 House races rated as tossups, Trump endorsed just five Republicans. Each one lost. Even the New York Post, the Wizened of Oz’s rancid rag turned against him.

As I have repeatedly said, to paraphrase a famous Hollywood insider, “No one on Wall Street knows fuck all about fuck all.” Today the Dow popped more than 1200 points, just a day after the Red Tsunami never happened. Whodathunkit? Does anyone in their right mind listen to these fucktards. Oh yeah... The rest of the wankers on Wall Street.

Twitter problems continue unabated. The latest is an email masquerading as an official Northern Ireland Office account was sent to newspapers on Wednesday night asserting that Chris Heaton-Harris, the Northern Ireland secretary, had resigned. The Northern Ireland Office issued a swift statement saying the resignation claim was false. Heaton-Harris followed up with his own rebuttal. “This is totally untrue. I hope one of Elon Musk’s first moves is to eliminate fake news on Twitter … Very exciting I know, but complete and utter tosh.” Musk replied with a tweet asking what a tosh was.

It would seem that Der Trumpf was somewhat subdued at his Mar-a-Lago shindig last night as he watched the voting results coming in. The gathering, organized in the large ballroom at his glitzy dump resort, was not an event where the often hard to shut up  Trump seemed particularly interested in addressing guests or even speaking to reporters after he delivered a short and solitary speech including his observation that it was an “Interesting evening.” Makes you wonder if he will stick to his promise of “A very big announcement” on November 15^th. By the way, in my post yesterday about the various names for Trump, I forgot to include my invention... Der Obergropenfuhrer.

It ain’t over ‘til it’s over.

After eighteen billion dollars spent on a tsunami of mind numbingly bad advertising, it would appear that we’ll probably end up with a Democrat controlled Senate and a Republican Congress. However, both will be with razor thin majorities. So, as usual, fuck all will get done and more billions will be spent leading up to 2024. Nothing to see here... Move along.

I loved the first line about Elon Musk In this post on Musebyclio... “Maybe the guy who said he hates advertising shouldn't have bought an ad platform.” I also loved this... As brilliant a marketer as Steve Jobs was, he had Lee Clow. As innovative a thinker as Phil Knight was, he had Dan Wieden and David Kennedy. To which I add, never forget what Ogilvy, Bernbach and their sixties compatriots did to transform the ad biz and the success of their respective clients .

Donald Trumpelstiltskin, Fuckface von Clownstick, The Trumpenator and my favorite... The Marmalade Mussolini. However, I’ll stick with Der Trumpf.

It’s nearly over... Oh no its not!

Tomorrow America goes to the polls. No more really shity political ads for... One day! Then it’ll start all over again on Wednesday leading up to the 2024 elections. Billions will be spent to little or no effect. Do you know a single person who has changed their political choices thanks to an ad? I’ve only ever worked on one political campaign. That was for John Lindsey back in the sixties when he was running for a second term as mayor of New York. His first term was a disaster with all kinds of fiascos, including a garbage strike that saw rats the size of dogs taking over the streets. We came up with a campaign that had him admitting... “I made mistakes, but I’ve learned through the experience.” Unbelievably, he won. Then fucked everything up even worse. No more politics for me!!!

I’ll stick to drinking.
