When I first came to America, I went into my New York bank and was surprised to seel all the people who worked there dressed were dress as wizards, witches and giant peanuts. I asked one of them what was going on. Oh, she replied, it’s a holiday, it’s Halloween. I replied, well if it’s a holiday, why are you all still working? She didn’t get it. When I was a kid, long before you where all born, we didn’t do Halloween, we did Guy Fawkes day. We didn’t do candy either, ‘cos there was none through the war. Instead we asked for a “A penny for the Guy.” If they didn’t give us one, after they had closed the door, we peed on their step.
Ah, the good old days!
