Now the company is making the news with a report that hundreds of employees were told they would get a $650 Christmas bonus, only then to be told it was actually a Phishing test, and they would get fuck all. Apparently, the genius who came up with this is the company's chief security officer Demetrius Comes. Yes... Fucking Demetrius.

Der Gropenführer golfs... Again.

‌MAGA “Morans” will be pleased to know that they, along with all other tax payers, will be picking up the tab for Der Trumpf’s latest golfing vacation. He has just arrived at his Palm Beach, Florida, resort for the 31st golf vacation there of his presidency, raising the taxpayer-funded travel and security total for his leisure to $151.5 million, according to a HuffPost analysis. Remember he criticized Obama for playing golf, saying “I just want to stay in the White House and work my ass off.” Instead, Trump has played golf on his own properties 289 times since taking office in January 2017, although he claimed during his 2016 campaign that he would be working his tiny hands to the bone tweeting shit, so wouldn’t have time for a vacation at all.

Interesting to read the remarks of Mark Penn, managing partner of Stagwell Group and CEO and chairman of MDC Partners, when he talks about the upcoming merger of the two companies. "What makes us unique is the top creative talent at places like 72andSunny and Forsman & Bodenfors, combined with our technology offerings. This merger provides the ability for us to unlock larger clients against larger holding companies." Funny, not a mention of the once shining jewel in the MDC cap, CP+B, or whatever it’s called these days. Perhaps its time to un-retire Alex and drag him back from his “Shed.” Tea with the Dalai Lama will have to wait.

Droga5 Drives On...

With several recent major wins, Droga5 is certainly on a roll, and rightly so. Under the aegis of my mate, Dave “gudonyermate” Droga, this is an agency that has built itself to a mighty stature primarily on the creative quality of its work. Even since they became part of Accenture, they have not allowed themselves to be dictated to by the bean counters. Hopefully, it will stay that way. Between Droga5, Goodby Silverstein + Partners, and Wieden & Kennedy, there is still some hope for the ad biz. Not a lot, but some.

Over at MediaPost, there’s an article headlined... “Seniors drive E-commerce growth as new digital habits settle.” Yes indeed... Listen you fuckers, irrespective of the E-commerce methods they are now using, seniors have always had more disposable income and spending power than young whippersnappers who spend what little cash they may have on games and high priced tech toys, all whilst living in their parents basement. Unfortunately, most of the BDA’s aim their increasingly pathetic ad campaigns at the “Youth” market. No doubt probably ‘cos the BDA's are increasingly staffed by young whippersnappers... Who also happen to come cheap.

MDC Does More Dumb Conniptions.

The long, boring and tedious saga of MDC-Partners continues with the news that it is merging with the Stagwell Group. Both outfits are led by Mark Penn who has shoveled dumpster loads of cash into each. However, never forget that when it came to dumpster loads of cash, MDC founder, Miles Nadal, was the master at taking it out. He used the wanna be BDHC as his own personal, diamond encrusted, piggy bank. Mansions, yachts, even a Formula One race car were funded thanks to the efforts of the constituent BDA’s.

Never forget... D... Stands for dumb.

Seeking new fucked up frontiers...

So, how are those “Guardians” in the “Space Force” making out? Have they all been fitted with their new camouflaged space suits (cos there might be jungle in space) emblazoned with badges sporting the official “Space Force” logo, which looks just like the “Star Trek” logo? Not to worry. When the Department of Defense unveiled the new name, it did so alongside a creed for the Space Force: "Heritage - Mission - Culture." No one bothered to explain what "heritage" and "culture" have to do with all this space bullshit. Better ask Der Trumpf.

Help save the “Triple-Tini.”

Don’t know if it’s still in there, but part of the draft version of the emergency coronavirus relief package included a tax break for corporate meal expenses pushed by the White House and strongly denounced by some Democrats. Known as the “three-martini lunch,” critics said it would do little to help struggling restaurants and would largely benefit business executives who do not urgently need help at this time. Perhaps... But, mind you, I am willing to do my bit to save the “three-martini lunch.” You can read about my first one in “Confessions of a Mad Man.”  No sacrifice was too much to ask back in my Mad Man days.
