I am somewhat torn when it comes to Michael Wolff, who had a splendid op-ed piece in yesterday’s New York Times… “How Television Won the Internet.” In which he points out that all the naysayers who go on ad nauseum about how TV is for Dodo’s are full of shit. Well worth a read, as have been other of his screeds . So, why am I torn? Because during his brief tenure as Editor of AdWeek, he not only wrote a remarkably cruel “Epitaph” for famed restaurateur, “Elaine.” He then fired my very good mate, Barbara Lippert, without doubt the very best ad columnist in the business. But then again… Everyone has their faults… Obviously, that would not include me!
The amazing thing is... One of the greatest ad men ever, never made a single TV spot!
