All the current “App-Mania” seems to be concentrated on taxi-hailers for the US market, with New York about to make them legal in the metropolitan area.. Yeh, good luck with that, particularly late afternoon when all the drivers are going back to fucking Queens to change shifts. But what I don’t understand is the, as usual, insane fucking valuations of these companies. Hailo is currently at $140 million, and Uber almost double that. How the fuck do you make that kind of money back on a fucking cell phone app that’s supposed to be better than just standing on the street and sticking your arm out. The fucker driving the cab is still going to ignore you either way… ‘Cos he’s on his fucking cell phone talking to his brother in East Wackistan about the latest cricket scores.
