There’s an interesting and funny piece in AdAge about the Dos Equis beer campaign… You know, the one I star in when I’m not writing AdScam. Probably the best beer campaign on the block, particularly when you compare it to the shit Bud, Miller and Coors pump out. What I really appreciate is the line… “I don’t always drink beer… But when I do, I prefer Dos Equis.” You just know that if one of the Big Dumb Brewers (BDB’s) was doing it, they would fucking freak out about that. “No, he has to say he drinks Dos Equis all the time, he even shampoos with it.” Kudos to Euro RSCG for originating the campaign, and hats off to my mate Lee Garfinkel for keeping the train on the tracks since he arrived a year ago. Way too many of the fucktard CD’s I’ve worked with in the past would have screwed it up by now by bringing their own “vision” to the campaign. And the great thing is, sales are way up, and everyone credits it to the advertising. What a fucking surprise.
