As loyal AdScammers know, I think that ninety percent of the ad biz currently sucks and is run by a bunch of accountants and ex insurance wankers for their own benefit and bulging bank accounts. But the news yesterday that Goodby, Silverstein + Partners has picked up the six hundred and fifty fucking million dollar Chevy car account, restores my faith that sometimes (But not often enough) the good guys win. GSP is without a doubt the best fucking agency in America, and don’t give me all that CP+B shit, I’m talking about TWENTY FIVE years of unmatched work and a readiness to invest in the talent and infrastructure necessary to stay on top of the changing media and communications platforms. But above everything else, it’s about “content,” whether it runs on TV, print, viral, social or on the back of fucking book matches! If Goodby does it, it will be fucking great… Yes, Jeff and Rich are mates, and Jeff wrote the foreword for The Ubiquitous Persuaders, my last book… Did you buy it yet? If not, why the fuck not? But anyway, congrats to GS+P, I look forward to the work.
