As Usual, AgencySpy opens mouth and puts its foot in it. On Wednesday (they don’t work on holidays or weekends) they had a post featuring a campaign from Y&R, Italy for sunglasses. The headline (in English) reads “Kiss my glass.” Obviously a play on “Kiss my ass.” Unfortunately, in Italian it makes no fucking sense… “Kiss my ass” is “baci il mio asino,” while “Kiss my glass” would be “baci il mio vetro.” Being a smart ass (not a smart glass) I left this comment…
Matt... Did it ever occur to you that these ads are from Italy and the last time I looked, everyone in Italy spoke Italian. If these ads ever ran other than in an award show... They wouldn't make fucking sense. But, if you believe they are legit... I have $50 million in a Nigerian bank I would like to transfer to you. All I need are your US bank account details. Cheers/George
To make things even worse, the post’s headline read… "Kiss My Glass" Really Means Derriereface. And of course, derriere is French. Hopefully, they’ll have it together by Monday!
