My last post about Agency Spy seems to have stirred the shit up regarding the comments it's been getting. Nina is dead right about the strange behavior of MediaBistro in that it seems to actively discourage comments. Perhaps that's something to do with CEO Laurel Touby, who according to a piece in the Village Voice, is a micro-manager and sounds a bit fucking weird. Still she did sell the thing to JupiterMedia for $23 million in 2007. Hey, if I could sell AdScam for that kind of money, you wouldn't see me for fucking dust. Why the hell is she still hanging around... Ego? Out of curiosity, I went to the other MediaBistro blogs to see how they handled comments... TVNewser (broadcast & cable news), had no comments on over 20 posts. PRNewser (public relations) had no comments on 15 posts. GalleyCat (book publishing), UnBeige (design) and MobileContentToday (mobile apps). didn't even display comments. You have to register and sign in to even read the fucking comments... If there are any. Jane Sample hits the nail on the head when she says that, in essence, because they are not allowing feedback. They aren't really blogging, they're just posting articles. And if you read them on all the sites, a lot of them smell like cut and paste jobs from PR releases. Who the fuck want's to read that? Hey JupiterMedia... Make me an offer, I'm a fucking AdHo, I can be bought for millions.
Anonymous AdScamer can be bought for millions!
