My mate Jai pointed my jet lagged brain at a piece in AdAge about Julie Roehm speaking at AdTech as a "Power" panelist. Whatever the fuck that might be. Seems like she's having a problem unloading her "double-wide" in Arkansas. Like, who gives a fuck... The woman's going to be paying her legal bills for the rest of her life. She said that to pay off the mortgage she has been working as a consultant trying to find "where the outside of the box was," helping a number of agencies to understand what clients really want... I imagine her experience explaining to Draft/FCB what Wal-Mart wanted, makes her perfectly qualified for that task! - As well as helping a big bank with strategy and working in the area of cable and interactive TV. Oh Julie, give me a fucking break... Not a single name for any of these "agencies," or any of the other "clients" she's "consulting" with. And in common with 90% of these boiler-plate conferences, AdTech doesn't pay speakers, they just give you shit about how it's a fucking privilege to speak at them. Privilege my arse!
Julie's advice to agencies... Send the client lots of luverleyy, fuckin' Effen-Effen!
