You just have to love Lewis Lazare of the Chicago Sun-Times... My pal Bruce was kind enough to send me the column he wrote today, where he basically rips Julie a new arse!!! Here it is for your reading enjoyment...
We really didn't want to go there again, but our concern that Business Week editors might have taken leave of their collective senses left us with little choice. Where we didn't want to go was anything to do with that creature seemingly more indestructible than a cockroach: deposed Wal-Mart marketing honcho Julie Roehm. Business Week, which keeps referring to her as a "star," dragged her into the news again this week by announcing she hired a loud-mouthed flack named Michael Sitrick to help her fight what he calls a "David vs. Goliath" battle against Wal-Mart. Puh-leeze. Sitrick's core competency appears to be persuading gullible, high-profile journalists to write glowing profiles that lay bare his client's side of whatever the sticky issue is. But if Business Week editors had done just a little digging, perhaps they would have recalled Roehm already had set forth her take on her short, controversial Wal-Mart tenure in a lengthy piece last winter in their own magazine -- an article that forced Wal-Mart to respond in a lawsuit. That story was followed by more Roehm hogwash in New York magazine.
Perhaps Sitrick now will aim for Us Weekly or People. But we can only hope he fails. For really, everything we need to know about Roehm was made abundantly clear within hours after she was kicked out the door at Wal-Mart. As observers with better memories than Business Week will remember, that was the moment when Roehm brazenly lied to the world, claiming her job at Wal-Mart was "done."
Reporters still interested in following Roehm would be better off investigating exactly who or what organization is really paying for her legal maneuvers and high-powered public relations counsel. That would be some news really worth knowing.
Fucking way to go Lewis Baby... I couldn't have put it better myself... What's next for RockStarHo Julie... A Paris Hilton encore with geriatric bumbler Larry King?
.
A truck load is on its way to Business Week right now!
