Steve over at AdRants points out that some of those multi-million hits for so-called CGC home movies on YouTube, are actually part of a giant scam. Several videos, which are really shitty, are getting zillions of hits... Because schemers are gaming the online voting systems used by content-sharing networks to serve their own ends, including the spread of malicious software and adware. Not to mention pumping up the so called success of videos that are actually promoting products. It's like wanky old Second Life claiming millions of users. Yeah maybe a lot of lamos out there have nothing to do better than sign up... The actual users are way less than half a million. In many, many ways the Internet is great. In other ways it's becoming a giant pain in the arse. I get fucking bombarded with spam for colonic irrigation, naked cheerleaders, people who want to lend me money for 2,000% interest... And of course the Nigerian wankers THAT WANT TO DEPOSIT MILLIONS IN MY BANKS ACCOUNT if I'll send them all my account details. To paraphrase someone famous and long dead... There are lies, damn lies, and the Internet.

That's what I say!
