Did you see the piece in Monday's NYT about the wondrous happenings at the AAAA conference which took place last week in Naples, Florida? (Hey - Gotta have golf y'know.) Seems like "The Gorilla" was none too pleased with AdWeek's rating of Draft/FCB as C minus over all and a grade of D for how the agency was managed in 2006... Which was, of course the year Howard took over as CFU (Chief Fuck Up!) Keynote speaker was Michael Roth, Howard's boss as Obersturmbanfuhrer of IPG. Who, if they were giving out grades for his job, should have got an X. After all he merged Draft with FCB! As usual, everyone there talked a pile of shit about "Breaking down silos - Interdependence - Holistic solutions - etc" Best of all though was Susan Gianinno, Queen of Publicis, who manged to wrap her piehole around this gem when explaining how some campaigns work... "Linking and integrating experiences across interconnection points to deepen and broaden involvement!" And I always thought it was about making ads.
.
The Gold Shit Award for total incomprehensibilty goes to Susan Gianinno! (cue applause)
