Here's a piece of useless trivia that Marino just sent me… Who created the start up sound for windows 95? Here’s a short version of the answer, you can find the complete thing on Wikipedia quotes... I'd been working on my own music for a while and was quite lost, actually. And I really appreciated someone coming along and saying, "Here's a specific problem -- solve it." The thing from the agency said, "We want a piece of music that is inspiring, universal, blah-blah, da-da-da, optimistic, futuristic, sentimental, emotional," this whole list of adjectives, and then at the bottom it said "and it must be 3 1/4 seconds long." Sounds like the typical fucked up agency brief… And the person saying all this was Brian Eno. But here’s what I want to know… How much did they pay him… And, does he get residuals every time someone boots up a PC… Even if it was only one hundredth of a cent… it’d be billions. Except in China where it’s all bootlegged.

Fuck you, Eno. Go talk to your head!
