Why am I not surprised that 13 agencies have received RFP’s from Heineken as the client reviews ad chores on its Heineken and Heineken Premium Light brands? ‘Cos all the recent advertising produced by Berlin Cameron United (Heineken Premium Light) and Publicis (Heineken), sucks!!! Other shops contacted include Deutsch, Carmichael Lynch; Merkley + Partners; Saatchi & Saatchi; JWT; Margeotes Fertitta Powell, Kirshenbaum Bond + Partners; Arnold; and independents M&C Saatchi, MMB and StrawberryFrog. Unsurprisingly, Pile and Co. is managing the process and making another “Pile” for its useless efforts. Heineken says it will cut to an undetermined number of shops in mid-September, then finally make up its fucking mind by year's end. What’s so funny is that as I have said in previous posts, it’s all going to go to Sir Frank’s Red Brick Road anyway. If you don’t believe me… Believe this quote from AdWeek… “Last month, a Heineken representative said Red Brick Road would be the leading agency to develop the communications strategy and key advertising for the Heineken brand worldwide." In the meantime 13 brain damaged BDA’s are going to spend shitloads of money chasing after a piece of business even a dufus like me can tell them they have no chance of winning… Oh well, welcome to Madison Avenue.
