My Old Mate Angela Natividad, (She of Barbie fame,) Has a wonderful post over on AdWeek... "Gucci's '60s-Inspired Student protest ad misses the post about why we're all mad." Which leads me to ask the question... What the fuck is it all about? Does Gucci imagine for a moment that their target audience cares about the French student revolt of the sixties? I'm old enough to remember it, and it wasn't about fashion, it was about politics. Mind you, if America's students revolted today, it would be about fashion, not politics. Oh, sartorial note, one of the shots is of a guy wearing a hoodie. They didn't exist in the sixties, unless it was a World War II British naval duffel coat. I know, I had one.
They kept us warm on the way to Murmansk.
