In an ominous sign for BDA's and BDHC's, monster package goods client Unilever told investors and analysts yesterday that it would produce 30% fewer ads going forward and trim its global creative agency roster by 50%. Unilever CFO Graeme Pitkethly said the company employs 3,000 agencies around the world, which will be reduced “by half.” Fuck Graeme, you should chop that in half, then half again. Remember when Lou Gerstner became CEO of IBM in 1993, he discovered they were using hundreds of agencies all over the world, so he chopped them all and put everything into Ogilvy... And he did it without a review. You can see that happening today, right?
Quality mate, not quantity!
