It’s fairly common knowledge amongst the Adverati that Tony Granger is a bit of a fucking wanker. Apart from acquiring a reputation for creating campaigns specifically created to win award’s, even if they didn’t actually run, he hasn’t produced anything of note since being hired for mega-bucks as Global Creative Nozzle at Y&R… Perhaps he will ride to the rescue of JC Penny before it sinks into the mire, but I wouldn’t get your hopes up. Anyway, on the other side of the globe, a big stink is happening in OZ as all the dirty fucking washing is being aired as ex-CD, Paul Fishlock wins his wrongful dismissal case against Campaign Palace. You can read all the sordid details on OZ ad site, Mumbrella.com. Here are a couple of tasty bits…
“The reputation of Young & Rubican’s global creative director Tony Granger certainly takes a battering in my view. The word “bully” is a hard one to come back from.”
“Mr Mackay, when asked about a number of emails which passed between himself and Mr Granger, described Mr Granger as “an arrogant leader in New York”. A little later he described Mr Granger as lacking “commercial savvy” and also as a “bully”. He said: ‘One needs to humour bullies and the way that one does it is as I have outlined in these emails’.”
There’s a lot more, well worth a weekend read.
Sounds like a wanker to me!
