AdAge is throwing yet another “Boiler Plate Conference,” titled “The Marketing + Technology Summit.” Apart from the fact that “Summit” should be reserved for when world leaders meet to avoid World War lll, why would anyone in their right mind pay $350 to listen to a bunch of clowns talk shit for four hours. Here’s an example from GE Nozzle… Stephen Liguori, Executive Director of Global Innovation and New Models (What the fuck does that mean?)
The evolution of GE means collapsing (not blowing up?) historically disparate organizational silos, harnessing the untapped potential of big data, (groan) and uncovering new ways of thinking, that can collectively power the company's vision of the industrial internet. But how does that happen? For, this means searching beyond the walls (not knocking them down?) of GE for new operational paradigms and working philosophies, like the 'lean startup' or 'C2B' mentalities, that can be brought inside the organization to inform the creation of new digital tool sets and the imagining of what the industrial equivalent to Apple's app ecosystem might look like.
That is the biggest collection of jargon, buzz words and bullshit I’ve heard in a long time. Why the fuck can’t these people talk in basic English for crying out loud?
