Have you noticed how everything is big these days? AdAge has an article telling readers not to look for the “Next Big Thing” while attending SXSW, without realizing that the show itself a big thing that gets bigger and bigger every year. Reminds me of Comdex, which in its heyday became so fucking huge they had to ship busloads of hookers in from all over the country. Then it imploded under its own sagging weight. Shit, I can remember Cannes when it basically had one fucking category – TV commercials. Now they have categories covering everything from bar codes to nipple rings. And speaking of the “Next Big Thing” have you noticed it’s “Big Data.” (Anyone remember “Datametrics?) Which will allow you to do big things with big numbers, obviously, the results will suck, but they’ll be big.
