Yeah… I know I promised not to do the usual Monday morning review of the Super Bowl Schlock that every other fucker in the universe does… But, I’ll make this short and pithy… I loved “The Big Pitch” that 72 and sunny did for Samsung… Even though it was a blatant rip-off of “The Player.” And even though 99% of the Super Bowl audience would have no fucking idea what the hell was going on. But you know what? Massive fucking kudos for getting the client to sign off on this super expensive exhibition of talking to yourself (and paying the entrance fees for the various award shows.) However, the ultimate winners, and the ultimate Riney “Morning in America” homage’s, have to go to the Richards Group for Dodge Ram “Farmer,” and the brewers of Nuns Piss, Bud, for “Brotherhood.” Jesus fucking artisanal Christ, both these spots brought tears to my eyes… Although, it could have been the artisanal Idaho Potato Vodka I was drinking at the time while waiting for the fucking lights to come back on. Nahhh, as Zippy the Pin Head would say, just taking the piss. Well done, Richards and Anomaly. Oh, and everything else was absolute drek and a good demonstration of why the business is fucked!!!
