Word on Wall Street is that Dell is in talks to get out of the rancid stock market by going private with some kind of leveraged buyout. That gets them out of the public gaze and the necessity to make those insane fucking numbers every three months, just like the BDHC’s do. Then again the private equity wankers who front the money will probably asset strip the company and fire most of the work force. Michael Dell made his millions selling PC's direct to the consumer and to business clients. He backed it up with great service. He should go back to that. The margins at retail are dumb, and the service sucks. That's why the Best Buys and others are in such deep crapola. Anyway, I know all about this chit, I wrote most of the ads for Dell when it was at Chiat, S.F, which then became GMO. If the ads didn’t work, Dell didn’t sell any fucking computers. None of that branding “smoke & mirrors” bullshit. And, definitely pre-Dude days. They were good ads that worked while winning lots of awards (he said modestly) So stick that in your social media pipe and tweet, like and fucking smoke it.
Hey Michael. If you've got one of these stupid objects still laying around, use it to break the Wall Street chains. It was certainly a giant wank as far as advertising goes!
