Whilst reading over my last Ogilvy post yesterday, it dawned on me that this once great agency is now going through the penultimate stage of the BDA death cycle… The “Let’s cheer up the remaining troops with free concerts” one. Long suffering AdScammers may remember a post I did in 2007 (Yes, I’ve been churning out this shit for that long!) about Draft/FCB’s New York office series of “Brown Bag Concerts.” Obviously, these were squeezed in between “Idgy’s Creative Rumbles,” which are also now long gone, along with “Idgy,” and hopefully soon, Boschetto... Man, is that wanker hanging on by his fucking fingernails, or what?. As I said in my BusinessInsider column yesterday, I would make every WPP Board member read David’s “Confessions of an Advertising Man” at least once a year. Then read "Confessions of a Mad Man" every fucking week. And if they didn’t… I would shove both up their arse.
