Just got a rather nifty whitepaper in from the Land of Oz. And no, it’s not about “tinnies” – “snags” – “Vegimite” or fucking cricket. It’s from some mates at Headshift Asia Pacific, and it’s all about how the airline industry uses social networking. Basically, it shows that whilst most are using social, a lot have no fucking clue what they are up to. They seem to be jumping from one platform to another as the new “social du jour” pops up. Yes Facebook and Twitter are well up there, but Flikr and YouTube are starting to fade. As the report puts it so well, Pinterest and Instagram are coming along… “but only for the most brave of the airlines.” You can read and download the Whitepaper from SlideShare. If you do nothing else, definitely read the piece about why the top airline performer in the use of social media, by far, is KLM. It’s an object lesson on what intelligent companies are doing, unlike the fucktards who pay lip service to the creation of a social program, because some douchenozzle on the golf course said they should. Congrats to the Bruce's and Sheila's. Time to get “Maggot on Goon.”
No, not yet... But soon!
