Just a couple of days ago, there was a piece in the NYT about someone’s phone ringing – and ringing, ringing, ringing without cease – during a performance of Mahler’s Ninth by the New York Philharmonic. So, the conductor, Alan Gilbert did something conductors virtually never do. He stopped the performance. No one fucking owned up. It kept ringing… A fucking marimba tone! The wanker responsible finally turned it off. I would have had him shot. Speaking of punishment, did ya see that the Chinese rioted and pelted an Apple store with eggs when they cancelled the introduction of the new iToy? What the fuck is going on?
