You have to laugh at the hilarious news out of England today that Rupert Murdoch's News Group Newspapers are once again in deep shit for illegally hacking into the mobile phone messages of numerous public figures to gain unlawful access to confidential personal data, including tax records, social security files, bank statements and itemized phone bills. Cabinet ministers, MPs, actors and sports stars were all targets of the private investigators hired by Murdoch’s so called “Senior Executive News-Thugs.” Today, the Guardian reveals details of the suppressed evidence, which may open the door to hundreds of legal actions by victims of News Group, publisher of two of the worst fucking newspapers in the world, the News of the World and the Sun. This will also open up police inquiries into reporters who were involved and the senior executives responsible for them. Rupert Murdoch's News Group Newspapers has already paid out more than one million pounds to settle cases that threatened to reveal evidence of his journalists' repeated involvement in the use of criminal methods to get stories. Ha, fucking ha… And at this moment he’s walking around fucking Sun Valley telling all the other media douchenozzles what a great guy he is and how he has all the answers to save the newspaper industry. What a hypocritical old fucker. Wendy better take double doses of her favorite horse tranquilizer tonight. On a final note, Andrew Neil, former Editor of the Sunday Times (A Murdoch paper) said… "If this was in the US, shares in News International would collapse tonight." Well, considering they’ve fallen 45% in the last twelve months, they wouldn’t have far to go!
Some fuckers going to jail for this... And it won't be me!

Wow! Read the Guardian piece. Scary stuff.

"In Bunyan’s Pilgrim’s Progress you may recall the description of the Man with the Muck-rake, the man who could look no way but downward with the muck-rake in his hands; Who was offered a celestial crown for his muck-rake, but who would neither look up nor regard the crown he was offered, but continued to rake to himself the filth of the floor."
-Teddy Roosevelt, 1906
Though it is believed the quote was pointed at Hearst, it could just as easily have been in regards to a scrying of Murdoch.

FUNNY
i always thought muckraker was a
compliment to someone who did journalistic muckraking such as
Izzy Stone, Westbrook Pegler, Upton Sinclair, John T. Flynn, Bernstein-Woodward...the line ends there, i guess...altho today perhaps John Stossel and that aussie guy who worked for the post and wrote the elvis book and the enquirer on a good day---could be candidates
