With all the shit the pundits have been throwing out there about Google’s new operating system, Google Chrome OS, there’s been a lot of speculation whether or not this is going to impact Microsoft’s major money cow, Windows. What a lot of these fucktard’s haven’t talked about much is how this might also affect Apple. Don’t forget, those 80 hour a week, Cupertino fuckers, make their own OS. You know, the one with all the cute little dancing icons and shit. But the really interesting bit is that Eric Schmidt, Google’s CEO, is also on the board of Apple. Did I hear “800 pound gorilla conflict” here? The Guardian has more on this thorny subject. While “The Secret Diary of Steve Jobs,” puts it best, when he says… Tag him and bag him, boys, because Squirrel Boy is finished around here… Ha, that GodJobs always did have a wicked sense of humor.
Hay douchenozzle... Hey Fucktard!

One of the biggest issues that will come up in legislation is Google's propensity to give you something for free (Gmail) in exchange for detailed information about your purchases, website visits and so on, everyone here knows about it.
But it is damned near impossible to opt out of this feature. In fact it takes about seven steps and it's hard to find out what they are.
The question we all have to ask is this-when you use the new Google operating system, you will not have an opt-in choice as you do not have an opt-in choice if you use Gmail and all the tools it provides.
How much of your past and propensities will you be willing to give this giant anonymous company in exchange for an operating system. If Congress were smart (they are decidedly not) they would make Google ask your permission for this fishing expedition and restrict its usage if you say yes.
At the end of the day, the public will pay little attention, the lobbyists will line pockets and lie, and Google will know more about their users than their mothers.
Enjoy.

A conflict? On paper, sure. In the real world? Probably not. Look, I can run OSX on a Mac, PC or PS3. Apple makes it brain-dead simple to run Windows on your Mac. Apple knows the real money is in hardware, content and apps. Your iPhone, iPod and iTunes all work with Windows, and they'll work with ChromeOS too.
Perhaps the only real consequence of this "conflict" is that Apple hasn't gotten into the Search Engine business. Somehow, I don't think they were headed that way though. Two companies, two totally different business models. Apple made half a billion off iTunes last year, and Google will lose half a billion on YouTube.
Look for the Google ChromeOS to go the way of Google Android and the Segway....a few sad geeks will use it to show how different they are, and everyone else will openly snicker at them.

i have had at least ten email accounts over the years from internet providers and freebee deals. those are the ones i remember just in the last 30 seconds.
One day when i was living all alone, i said to myself, "who needs all this stuff, why should i save my stuff here, and why should i be subject to all their terms and research?"
i deleted all my emails everywhere. i also bought a mac account figuring that, i cannot live without this technology seeing that i hate cell phones, and need some type of communication with the outside world to basically live or live basically, which i do. Being the woman i am over the age of 45 is a disadvantage in some ways to going totally off the grid as i don't have the necessary physics or programmer/server skills.
I decided i have to trust my data with someone. I decided it was apple because everything i do is simultaneously recorded on my machine at all times in the format it is seen on the web. My blog, my website, my email, plus my iDisk stuff.
I may be stupid, and you are certainly allowed to call me that, but i chose apple ( a mac account) as the least enemy to f up or f with my data and online stuff of all the providers i know of.
with that i said and say goodbye to all the rest and handed over my 100 dinero dues. Maybe I owe them a dinner for that. maybe they owe me one. I can never be 100% certain, can I?

@pillybikeboy right, said Homer. Spot on in other words. At least if dollar sense was all the sense in the world. And perhaps it is at the end of the day.

Who came up with the name Chrome OS? Ken Segall?

Until 1997 I used only Macs, MacOS and Yahoo. Then I discovered PCs, Windows and Yahoo. Later, it was Google. Lately I found Bing. My MAC and its OS, poor things, as much as I'm passionate about them, have been gathering dust for several months since. I feel terrible.
