You have to fucking laugh when you read the shit in AdAge about AT&T’s hiring ex-Coke exec, Esther Lee, to oversee brand marketing, advertising creative and media strategy. The way they put it is that this will rekindle AT&T’s “emotional connection with consumers”… Just one fucking minute guys… What emotional connection was that? Ever since the days of the Super-Spy Flint movies (remember, the villain trying to take over the fucking world turned out to be Ma Bell, which later transmogrified into AT&T?) There has been no emotional connection. It’s just the phone company trying to figure out how it can fuck you even more than usual with hidden fees and surcharges and shit. Last week I was in Twin Falls and Jackpot, remember? I had no fucking cell phone connection on my AT&T wankphone for two days. Fuck emotion, just keep me connected. Is that too much to ask a fucking phone company? Besides which, when their contract with Apple runs out next year, they’re fucked. All the iPhone Apple freaks will head for the door so fast, the only people getting emotional will be AT&T’s management… Serves them right, douchnozzles.
