It would seem that my post of yesterday about Agency Spy's new found obsession with sex generated a lot of interest. One wanker, by the name of "Dan Tanner" describes me as a cranky old fart saying douchenozzle too many times, and posting too often about Draft/FCB. To which I have to offer my usual piece of advice... No one forces you to read this shit. So why don't you stop reading AdScam and devote all your energies to Agency Spy... You fucking douchenozzle! That's better. As for my friend "The Founder" I'm not picking on Matt, I'm just saying that a lot of the stuff they post about now is shit you can read on AdAge or AdWeek, apart from sex videos... That's not what blogging is all about. It's supposed to express a point of view. Where's the piss and vinegar? Even Agency Spy has toned it down considerably from the early days, now it smacks of all the other MediaBistro blogs. Which are pretty fucking awful. But never forget, this is a "For Profit" site, and the people who write for it get paid to do it. I get fuck all for working my balls off, but as I have no one to answer to, I don't give a fuck. Finally, some douchenozzle-esse over at MediaPost has written the worlds most name dropping, nauseating, sycophantic post about Agency Spy's Party last night. Have a few stiff ones before reading it. You'll need them!
After a night out in London last week with George Parker, who the fuck needs Agency Spy?

Give me a night with Kate Moss and KETEL ONE VODKA anytime!!
What's the deal with the trashy weekly video Agency Spy is putting together anyways.......they seem desperate! Why is Matt drinking and where's the coorelation to the SPY thing? I'll take the fucker's job!!
George, you outta follow Gary Vaynerchuck and do some videos yourself. Have all your old friends (mates) sitting around a camera, with plenty of smokes, scotch and swearing! That would be a hit!!
Think of all the product placements and revenue that would bring...well, mmmm...yea, probably not. :-)

Hi George,
I know you weren't picking fun at him.. and honestly I do see your point when I re-read their stuff...
It's just a rough time I think right now for everyone in the advertising world.. this recession is far more painful than what I thought it would be.
I know you have much more experience with this stuff (my experience as an adult was limited to the 2001-2002 recession) .. and that appears to be very mild compared to the garbage we have now...
It just feels like it will be like this for 20 years before things start picking up.

Founder...
More like 30 years... It's just that you are not as curmudgeonly as me.
Cheers/George

Cheers George, i've been shouting in the dark for a while about how AgencySpy has gone downhill especially considering the access they have to the juicy tips. Give me some of that shit man.
Oh well, i'll keep trucking over in my lonely corner. I need to have a coined word - what do you think GP? Monkeyballs? Fuckface? Fucktard? Jizzface? Donkeypunch?

I'm with Kypar. Snag one of those HD/cinema mode camcorders for under a grand (I've been drooling over one,) shoot buckets of footage, and edit. We all know there's far worse being broadcast now.

AgencySpy did break the story on the hideous Betsy Sperry demise from Grey West. Didn't they also break the Casey Jones story too? GP, don't worry, you are still my fave old fart!

Blacked Out Friday,
Not sure why anyone thinks it's such a big ass deal if a shitty blog announces a news item a few hours before anyone else. For Christ's sake, it's advertising, not TMZ. Anyone who thinks they're important because they know something a few hours before others is a delusional jackass. There's a difference between having exclusive information and having early information. Hell, most journalists at trade publications have more to do than Matt at AS, who has the luxury of sitting around in a toilet stall, masturbating and waiting for the next insignificant news item. Just saying.

There's also a difference between publishing news and having a POV on it that is both interesting, relevant and credible - three more areas where Matt falls short.

Me thinks you doth protest to much about Spy. They're fun and getting better. GP will need more than UK scoops and swear words to compete...
Just saying is all...

I saw you speak at the PSFK conference last year and been a fan ever since. I know the peeps over at Agency Spy and Media Post as well. The next time you are in NYC, you guys would do well go out and drink whiskey somewhere. I'll organize it as long you put down your credit card!

There are dozens of worthless, time-wasting blogs out there in the PR/media world - on the internet in general really. There are also a lot of people in the PR/media world who suck at blogging. You are absolutely right about the ones who even do it for their company blog, which makes it even more ridiculously amazing - they get paid to do bad blogging! It is like companies want ANY publicity - no matter how poorly written and reported on. I read as few as possible now due to my desire to keep as many brain cells as I can after losing so many in the beginning when I read a lot of these blogs.
