The Creativity award list... fucking great!!!
The current issue of "Creativity" lists all the award winners for 2008 by agency, CD, AD, writer, "blow" providers, groupies, douchenozzles etc. All the usual suspects are listed, with the most awards going to BBDO at 845... Do you have any fucking idea how much these fuckers must have spent on entry fees, 'cos not every entry is going to win the "Golden Phalus" for outstanding dickery. Dave Loubars is listed as CD on 720 winning campaigns... which means he must have spent at least two minutes on each one... Way to fucking go Dave. Not only do you get paid millions for doing all that great work. You also get to serve on most of the fucking juries that dish out the awards. Is'nt advertising fucking great?
What ever happened to the great ads?

Learn how to post fucking links, George.

George, I award you a MAGNUM cloaked "Golden Phalus for outstanding dickery" for that line alone. Thanks for the good form.

the "attachment of his own credit may suck but shit, I never cared who was cco on my campaign and anyone looking my old work up now thinks I worked with him. it could be a worse name on there, ya know?
lubars came into our office three, four times per year to get a general roundup of what we were working on. those visits usually coincided with big pitches, huge presentations, critical stages. he's fun to deal with and lets you fight for your work if you disagree with him but that's all about there is. you are right about the two minutes per campaign.
but I think that's his job. he hires the cco's at the local shops, he hire's the ecd's who do the day-to-day with you and he drums up new business outside. I liken him a bit to a high-profile college president who makes the damn place well-known so they get some new donors but let's the inner runnings be dealt with by the provost.
at most of the other agencies I've been at, I've had to deal with too many conflicting opinions coming from the top. I preferred it like this (I am not longer with them).

Think of the people who freelance and come up with award winners - only to never have their name associated with it. Happened to me and a few folks I know.

this site makes me sad.
i get the whole "shock jock" vibe that you are going for. and really, i want to like it. but as i read it one thought keeps looming in the back of my mind- george, it must suck to be you.
what motivates someone to spend so much time trying to hurt people. trying to take down others who are far more successful then yourself. sorry i just find it depressing. what will it say on your tombstone? "here lies george parker. made fun of advertising."
