More Ogilvy shit!

Several commenter's on my Ogilvy "Bloodbath" post have pointed out that perhaps some of the unfortunate fuckers who will be shown the door tomorrow, may get the option of joining "Super-Agency" DaVinci... Mmmm, not so sure about that, as an informant within the Poisoned Dwarf's empire has told me that WPP now has a special mail box to handle the flood of resumes on DaVinci  (davinci@wpp.com).  Perhaps we should all try if for a laugh, and see what kind of response we get. perhaps I can get a commission for everyone I send there. Call it Pay-per-Dick. Although I wouldn't to recommend anyone for a job that involved working on a single account under the eagle eyes of a bunch of ex-Grey criminals. I'm also told that a decision was taken that WPP doesn’t need to use external recruiters; all of the blogging and news coverage would lure talent to the world’s most prestigious new account. That must mean all the "Favorable press" they've been getting from me!

Pool_gnome .

When all this shit is over, I'm taking a fucking vacation!

My favorite vacation spot is Mustique in the BWI. Not to many ad people go there, but I did spend two weeks there with Mary Wells Lawrence. Another time with fading one time corporate raider Meshulam Riklis and wife Pia Zadora. You'd like it! Google it for the villa you can rent versus staying at The Cotton House. And Basil's is just a one of a kind place for late night concoctions.

They are only laying off 60 people.

and that's alright?

and is that 60 now to be followed bay another 60 in a few months?

oh well, could be worse, they could do the Daft scenario and fire one a day for the next 3 months...

Note: There's only ONE ex-Grey crimnal "keeping an eye" on the new DaVinci entity..the other guy is sitting in jail....

There's a certain degree of gloom in the entire industry right now it seems. is anybody other than davinci hiring?

DaVinci - if you can get beyond the fact that an ex-Grey "criminal" wrangled himself a top position there thanks to the demands of Dell's Casey Jones - seems to be the only place really hiring and some of the media service companies are apparently staffing up....BUT even they may suffer soon if the writer's strike continues much longer...YES there presently is a certain degree of gloom in the industry UNLESS of course, you're in senior management at IPG...which thanks to good employment lawyers, they're sitting pretty regardless what happens..
