Karen Hughes. "Douchenozzle of State!"
So Karen Hughes has finally realized she is flogging a dead horse trying to improve the image of the US in the Arab and Muslim world. This Uber-Crony of the "Decider Guy" has decided to hotfoot it back to Texas, probably to spend more time with her family, which is the excuse she gave last time she jumped ship from the USS "Mission Accomplished" three years ago. Remember when she spoke to a bunch of women in Saudi Arabia and assured them that when Bush brought democracy to the Middle East they'd all be able to drive Hummers, get shitfaced on booze and walk around downttown Rihad without panties, just like Britney. They all told her to fuck off in no uncertain terms. I guess the single biggest accomplishment of her two year stint was making Cal Ripkin the Baseball Ambassador to China! 'Cos you know it's a fucking huge sport over there and Cal's picture is on the front of every paper, every day. Karen, it's simple, you should have told Bush that if he wants to improve our image in the Arab world, all he has to do is get the fuck out of the Arab world.
I have no fucking idea what this says... And I don't give a shit!

and from W, you expected ... what, exactly?
i just watched a panel get all ratcheted up on Bill Maher's show about the same issue... Gen. Clark was making that same point, that the women of Iraq welcome that change, they told him so themselves...
right, i know, Muslim women talking to a man that's not their husband saying things against their religion...uh huh...
but a counterpoint was brought up by Andrew Sullivan, normally very grating ... he asked "who asked us to?" and i agreed...the whole reason we're in Iraq is not to liberate the women, is it?
the social traditions of Islam are not going to change any time soon, and, after centuries of conditioning, most of the women are probably not the ones that will lead that charge...they see women like Karen Hughes as being the sisters of Shaitan and hopelessly corrupt.
again the startling ego of this administration comes to the fore, because Laura Bush can walk around in those hideous Texas designer rags, W believes it's his mission to make sure every women on the planet gets the same options.
if we remember a few years ago, a woman was raped by her uncle, gave birth to a child and sentenced to be stoned to death for the "offense". a womens rights organization went to the town, offered her and her baby asylum, she refuses, saying she had sinned and must be punished. she was stoned to death, a particularly brutal death. that's the type of social conditioning this admistration is up against.
oh, yeah...the uncle? he got a written citation, sort of like a parking ticket.

Yep -- that lady was pitching a bad product.

At least the girls in Iraq get to go to school, and learn something.
Maybe they won't have to live a life of honor killings, beatings for being seen in public with unrelated males, and stoning for adulterous behavior.
Meanwhile:
“Al Qaeda in Iraq is defeated,” according to Sheik Omar Jabouri, spokesman for the Iraqi Islamic Party and a member of the widespread and influential Jabouri Tribe. Speaking through an interpreter at a 31 October meeting at the Iraqi Islamic Party headquarters in downtown Baghdad, Sheik Omar said that al Qaeda had been “defeated mentally, and therefore is defeated physically,” referring to how clear it has become that the terrorist group’s tactics have backfired. Operatives who could once disappear back into the crowd after committing an increasingly atrocious attack no longer find safe haven among the Iraqis who live in the southern part of Baghdad. They are being hunted down and killed. Or, if they are lucky, captured by Americans.

BTW, I appreciate reading knee-jerk lefty tripe. The cheap shots at Karen Hughes and Laura Bush are really special.
While you're hanging out on the deck, hoist an Oban -- neat -- in memory of Lt Michael Murphy, LD.
Cheers, as they say.

Hammer...
It's not a cheap shot at Karen Hughes, it's a legitimate critisism of the pathetic job she has done in the last two years. She's a Bush Crony, and like all of them... She fucked up and is now going back where she belongs... Fucking Texas. And bringing in the name of a dead soldier is a FUCKING CHEAP SHOT!
Cheers/George

Ooops...

Cheers.

i'm sorry to burst the bubble here, but there is no electricity, running water or night-time security. the girls are going to schools for photo-ops that play very well to the right but not in real life:
girls attendance is dropping:

al Qaeda defeated? read on:

from Patreus:
"The overall commander in Iraq, General David Petraeus, says that the Iraqi al-Qaeda network, the Americans' main foe in the country, has been “significantly reduced”.
He cautioned that al-Qaeda may yet “come back off the canvas and land a big punch”; perhaps he was thinking of how the demolition of a Shia shrine in the town of Samarra early last year caused a splurge of sectarian violence and helped al-Qaeda to rebound from a previous rough patch."
and i hoist a few for EVERY man, woman and dog that's lost their lives in a futile engagement to staisfy the whim of a very stupid man and his grotesque gang of thugs in the white house, so piss off.
you waqnt to watch your government at work, chump? watch condi rice sleaze her way out of the oversight committee questioning her about civilian deaths in the green zone at the hands of thugs like blackwater:

More childish, leftist ranting from the poseur: lower depths.
You can just shut up now, and pay your taxes.
You should be quite relieved that there are adults who have volunteered to take care of your security for you.
Drink Up.

so i was right, reading is not your cup of tea.
thank goodness and common sense that more people are coming around to those "childish, leftist ranting(s)" as clearly stated by W's approval ratings...
even W's boy-toy general has misgivings about proclaiming "mission accomplished" again.
you're still a loser firing on no cyclinders...come back with something meaningful and worth the effort...
and i'll go back and ask a question i posed to you that you have not yet answered: have you ever served your country? if no, keep your pie hole shut about the men and women that have and do. the macho posing about "security for America by useless invasions" is really tired. and voluntereed is a bit much when you have no say in the extension(s) of your tours of duty.
they're actually offering $35K to officers to stay because their numbers are dropping rapidly and the academies can't fill the gaps!
discuss that.

odd little-known fact:
the terrorist watch list had 20 names as of 9/11.
It now includes more than 755,000 names. And I feel at least 37,000 times safer.

back on karen hughes for a secand, even Fox got it sort of right...seems she thought giving soccer balls to the poor kids in Afghanistan would cheer them up so the US sent over crates of them with the flags of the world on them...
...including the Arabic flag....
...which has Allah's name on it...
...which should be obviously a no-no...
...so the US had to aplogize for the offense....
http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,294832,00.html
by the by...isn't it disrespectful to put ANY flag on an object that will get kicked around in the dirt? i can only assume, in the interest of fair play, the US flag was on it as well...
oh yeah, just for good measure? they also put a photo rendering of Mecca on it....
nice. any wondering why she's gone?
