SECOND LIFE CONTINUES TO GET BEYOND WEIRD!
Just to show you how fucked up this whole Second Life thing is, news flying around the Blogosphere would indicate that John Edwards’s Second Life HQ has been vandalized by Republican avatars!!! According to a very badly spelled post from “robinrising” on the John Edwards web site… Yeah, his fucking web site, remember what they are? “Shortly before midnight (CST) on Monday, February 26, a group of republican Second Life users, some sporting "Bush '08" tags, vandalized the John Edwards Second Life HQ. They plastered the area with Marxist/Leninist posters and slogans, a feces spewing obscenity, and a photoshopped picture of John in blackface, all the while harassing visitors with right-wing nonsense and obscenity-laden abuse of Democrats in general and John in particular. I witnessed this event, taking names and photos, including the owners of the pictures. I also kept and saved a copy of the chat log. I have filed an abuse report with Linden Labs, and am awaiting their investigation.” Boy that’ll show those Republican fuckers who’s in charge in the non-existent world no one in their right mind would even think of inhabiting!

Reminds me of an incident when I worked for my art director dad, 25 years ago. We had commissioned an ilustrator to paint (yeah, paint with real brushes) a concept cover regarding the fast food, uh using this term loosely, revolution. He created this fun image of a hamburger and taco driving across the Mojave Desert. The taco was a female and she had ample bosom. When the "politically correct police" descended like vultures upon us, my dad made the most estute observation, "The taco has too much clevage?!! The TACO has to much clevage?!! It's a fucking cartoon!" A culture that has lost it's sense of humor is lost. Sigh...

we haven't lost our sense of humor, terri, the AE's and Brand Police have lost theirs... i still find the funny stuff funny and usually get it from youtube or wherever.
whenever you try to reach everyone with "appropriate + safe" content, you always distance yourself from a large group that doesn't need to be cuddled.
