I have returned!!!
OK... I'm back from New York... I think I have alcoholic poisoning. Which means I'll cut it down to just six G&T's a day for the next week. Anyway... The PSFK Conference was great... Lots of good stuff which I'll talk about over the next couple of days... I was broken hearted the Julie and Sean didn't show up. I even sent a limo down to NoBu to pick them up. But as the limo belonged to Howard Draft... It wouldn't fucking start. Anyway, seems like Julie is laying low... I think she is starting an office painting company. I had drinks last night with Russell Davies who was in NY for a couple of days. Took him to my old boozer, The White Horse Tavern and showed him the stool Brendan Behan fell off after twenty two whiskies. Died on the spot... What a fucking way to go! Anyway... Russell did a review of MadScam on his blog March 6th... Check it out. It's pushed up the sales on Amazon UK... 'Cos when you've finished reading it, you can wrap your fish and chips in it... You should also buy Russells last book, see below. I'll be back with lots tomorrow. Cheers/George.

George, did you frequent the White Hourse in the early '90s? If so, we were probably in there at the same time, getting our drunk on.

White Horse is also the place that Dylan Thomas basically drank himself to death.

Brendan Behan did not die at the White Horse Tavern.
By early March 1964 the end was in sight. Collapsing at the Harbour Lights bar, he was transferred to Meath Hospital, and never resurfaced. On March 20th, the boy who clung to the whiskey glass finally made it home.
