Bruce Lee... Kicks O&M in the head!
Today’s news out of O&M is that Bruce Lee has “resigned" to "pursue his “novel writing career" and that Jan "What color and how big, would you like that logo" Leth will be taking over as head of Ogilvy Direct. That’s a crying shame. Bruce was not only a talented and smart person; he was also a hell of a nice guy! It only goes to prove my long held belief that BDA’s are fucked. Over the many years I’ve been in this ridiculous business, I have seen way too many people exit jobs where they were delivering real value. But, if your face doesn’t fit, or you don’t kiss the right arses, or when you’re a gnarly old fucker like me and they can hire a young tosser for a tenth of the price… It’s sayonara!
Word out of the “Land of Red Carpets” is that resumes are being polished and many Brazilian Tattoo Parlor ads are being re-engineered and updated. One of these days O&M will lose IBM and AmEx… Not because of bad work or strained relationships. It’s simply a fact of life… Nothing lasts forever. Particularly ad accounts at BDA’s. And that's when not just the carpets, but the fucking walls will be red!
.
Bruce... Loved it when you kicked Chuck Norris's ass in the Coliseum!
.

bigger news news would be that Mr Humphries died. his time came. take what you will from that.
and what is Ogilvy Direct? was that what it was called when you actually wrote ads -back when you all got high on spray mount and took pub lunches ... ahh yes back when Maggie ran England with an Iron fist. and coal miners had jobs in Engerland.
You need buy a clue.
I have some good Essex girl jokes that have more substance than this drivel.

Giving Leth the job was a way to make him work for his salary. Up on 8, he's done nothing. No one respects him since his previous job was at a small direct agency in suburbia somewhere. Talk about being in the right place at the right time.
He's got some of his people installed as CDs alongside our CDs, but no one takes them seriously either. There are talented internet creatives; but the people he's put in place don't come from their ranks.
So all is happening Mr. Parker states. I don't know anyone who doesn't have their book out. I've even run into co-workers on my way into interviews.

5th Floor sounds like a wanker... I know it's Ogilvy One dick-head, but the name is of no interest when it's all one big steaming pile. Isn't the 5th floor the mail room? Oh, and if it's drivel... Stay the fuck off AdScam you wanker!
8th Floor happens to have it right. A lot of fine people have walked the red carpet in the past. They are getting fewer and fewer. Happens to every BDA sooner or later.
Cheers/George

who gives you the right to judge? why don't you go out there and find something useful to do, seems like you have a lot of time on your hands.

"right to to judge"? that's rich coming from someone named "anonymous". it's a blog, it's the internet...lots of people saying lots of things...some with merit and others not...
i can't speak for "5th floor", obviously a bitter individual, "8th floor" makes some valid, albeit angry, points, and george has spent more time in the trenches than most of us want to ... what's your claim to fame?
