Update on the Cannes "Party of the Week" hosted by McCann. Due to the miracle of Google, I've dredged up the fact that renting the Christina O costs a mere $80,000 a day... Plus food, booze and the dozens of assorted lackeys necessary to keep filling up the various troughs. So you know the whole shindig had to be well into the six figures! Capping this charade was the announcement yesterday that the SEC is extending its investigation of Interpublic's very dodgy finances over the last few years. Interpublic responded by firing its third CFO since the investigation began. What no one seems to be talking about is that most of the shit hit the fan when John Dooner was CEO of IPG, before bailing out to return to McCann as CEO. Talk about the lunatics running the asylum! Word on the street is that there are a lot of very pissed-off McCann employees who are suffering layoffs and salary freezes while reading about "Ari Dooner's" yachting escapades. But you now what? Why should we be surprised. This business is full of bean counting scumbags who always make sure most of the beans end up in their pile. They remind me of the seagulls in "Finding Nemo," who all had a one word vocabulary... "mine - mine - mine." Whats next John, a fucking gold Rolls Royce?
